On average an adult should consume approximately 2,500 calories, and drink 8 cups of water to stay healthy. This is not too hard if you learn a couple of things.

 

1. Do not drink your calories. Sodas and juices can be a lot of calories. Drinking that extra can of coke will not help your body in any way.

 

2. Control your portions. Try not to over do it on unhealthy things, and eat more fruits and vegetables. Instead of eating a lot of starch, eat less starch and try to eat protein and fill half the plate up with salad.

 

3. Make your own foods and snacks. They do not take too long to make, and they can also taste great.
